Chicago Ideas Week (CIW)

Chicago Ideas Week (CIW), Chicago, October 10-16th, created by Groupon Co-Founder Brad Keywell, is an annual, weeklong initiative bringing together globally recognized visionaries to speak on a variety of critical issues, social topics, and breakthrough concepts.

Made up of approximately 20 CIW talks open to the public, each consisting of 5-7 speakers, exploring a theme, two TEDx events, and three evening events with mega-speakers.

This year’s topics include Education, Film, Food, Hackers, Philanthropy, Investing, Poetry, Social Entrepreneurship , the Creative Process, Tradition and many more. Dave Winfield will address the topic Tradition, and the Game of Baseball in American Life.

The Week also includes a number of VIP dinners and concerts. Co-Chaired by outgoing Mayor Richard M. Daley and Mayor-elect Rahm Emanuel, has a high profile and includes speakers along with Dave Winfield, Sanjay Gupta, Kevin Bacon, Wes Craven, Ronnie Lott, along with famed Pulitzer Prize winners, Broadway Directors, CEOs, futurists, peak performance experts, etc.

There will be exposure to a broad audience of up to 15,500 participants, in addition to tens of thousand more via online broadcasts and other promotions. Media partners include Fast Company, NBC Chicago, Chicago Tribune, and Crain’s Business Chicago.
