by P. Turner

Dave Winfield continues his dedication to college baseball by keynoting fundraising efforts throughout the country. In February he will team up with coaches Bill Kinneberg at University of Utah for their annual fundraising campaign, and with John Anderson at University of Minnesota (Winfield's alma mater) to help bolster their fundraising efforts for the new Dick Siebert Field.

"I am proud that a great deal of my personal and business success has stemmed from my participation in NCAA College baseball," Winfield said. "Last year, I learned a great deal about the status of today's collegiate baseball programs, and see first hand how some programs thrive while others scuffle in today's economy."

In 2010, Winfield keynoted the successful fundraising efforts at the University of Portland and the University of Virginia.

"My goal is to boost both the program's profile and donor commitments," said Winfield. "I think I added a bit of motivation and exuberance to their fundraising efforts."

"We can all play a role in keeping baseball an important part of our kid's lives and in our communities at all levels – from sponsoring a team, coaching, or just by attending games and rooting for the home team," says Winfield. "To me baseball is still the best game of all. Let's not drop the ball!"
